The AI assistant in the corner of this site is built on other people’s work: its character, Kei, and the software that brings her to the page. This page lists who made them, the terms they are used under, and how this site uses them.

How this site uses it
Only the files a web page needs are taken from the official sample: the model, its texture, physics settings and one facial motion. The character’s design is not changed in any way, and the voice recordings that come with the sample are not used. Her mouth and gaze are driven live by this site’s code.

How the assistant answers

The assistant answers only from this site’s published posts, projects and author profile. Questions that have nothing to do with the blog, such as the weather, general programming help or product comparisons, are turned down.

Answers are written on the spot by a large language model. They can be incomplete or wrong; the posts themselves are the source of truth.

Your question is sent, together with the relevant passages from this site, to a cloud language model service that writes the answer. Questions asked on an article page that get an answer are stored with that answer in this site’s database, so a similar question later can reuse it. Only the question and the answer are stored, nothing that identifies who asked.
